We want to make sure you have enough time to plan and prepare for the performances that are required. Most of these performances take place outside of regular school hours. They are like the exciting and big moments we've been working towards as a band. It's the time when all our hard work, practice, and rehearsals come together to create something amazing. It's the ultimate goal of our band!
That's why all performances are incredibly important. They are not only an opportunity for us to showcase our talents, but they also contribute to your overall grade in the band, just as we mentioned earlier. Your participation and presence at these performances are crucial because they are part of our collective achievement as a band.
By attending and giving your best at each performance, you contribute to the success of the entire group. Your dedication and commitment make our performances truly special. So, mark those dates on your calendar, keep an eye out for the notices and reminders we'll provide, and make sure to be present and ready to give it your all. These performances are the moments when we shine as a band, and we can't wait to see you there!
It's really important for our band concerts to look neat and unified, so we can have the best performance experience. Here are the guidelines for concert dress based on your grade level:
6th Grade: Wear white tops (shirts/blouses) with black slacks, skirts, or dresses.
7th Grade: Wear a white GB polo shirt, black slacks, socks, and shoes (any style of shoe is fine).
8th Grade Concerts: Wear a red GB polo shirt, black slacks, socks, and shoes.
8th Grade Marching Band: Wear white long-sleeved T-shirts, black slacks, socks, and any color athletic shoe that will protect your feet while marching. The long-sleeved T-shirts are lightweight and comfortable in warmer weather, but can also be layered if it gets cold early in the season. We'll also use these T-shirts for performances at school, like pep assemblies, holiday assemblies, and music tours for younger students.
If a student comes to a concert or performance without the proper concert dress, they may be asked to change their clothes or not perform. If you need help with concert dress, please talk to your band director. Sometimes we have donated shirts that we can give to students who need them.
Please note that the customized Grand Blanc shirts will be ordered in the fall, so you'll have them for future events.
