this is under the sea in this environment id expect to hear the sound of whales far away and many flickers that are muffled by the water id also expect to hear bubbles as well as some wary music in the background or complete silence both to create tension depending on the

The Remake uses sound to create tension wherever you go, with the foot steps of Mr X or the water on the floor in some rooms, the remake has a plethora of click like sounds and uses a bunch of slow build ups of music when exploring new areas to give an eerie feeling that something could be there,
i found a 2d image of google and stated deciding what i was going to cut up and make move, i decided that moving the birds would be a lot of work so i decided to remove them.
i removed the Lilly pads and used the inbuilt AI in Photoshop to auto fill the area while doing this it changed the top left of the image adding a rock there while removing the bird
i gave the moving parts separate layers and put them in groups so that i can export them as separate images and move them separate about in fx
for the sounds i'll need is going to be some flowing water sounds, birds and wind along with some calm music to fit the background.
i put all my separate images into after affects and started to animate them while also adding sound to create some ambiance in the backround making some more immersion while watching this video.
i finished the short video of the moving image then i uploaded it to youtube so that i could put it on this site as a youtube video that's playable so its easyer to access when looking at my work.
after finishing this one i realized there were somethings i could have improved on for example in the middle right a Lilly pad goes over a rock. this isn't at all realistic and if noticed could easily break immersion i took this into account when thinking of what to do for my second moving image as i had a lot of spare time as i finished this very quickly.
i used the first images land space and took the trees from the second image to put into after effects so that the world could be built during the animation; different layers will pop up throughout the animation and then trees will also grow while the sun and clouds move across the sky.
using sound and music on free sound i put them into the animation we were also given another tool for sound which is band lab where we can compose out own sound using different instruments to make some music.
Sound is important in games because it can determine what atmosphere you will create within your game, if you were playing a horror game then joyful music came on it would break any level of immersion created before that if it wasn’t played because of an action you did for example activating a tape or a change in scene. However normal sounds not music is just as important if not more as having the Mario jump sound effect in a horror game would also break the immersion as it wouldn’t fit the games’ theme making it feel out of place and atmosphere this creates making the games sounds as realistic to the genre and real life really important as it can make or break a game another part of sound in games and most mediums of entertainment is dialogue this can also decide the popularity of a game as good voice acting while a bit less noticeable than music choice and sound effects has a huge impact on the player during built up scenes maybe where someone dies or the monster is found out; Having poor voice acting during key moments in the game can also break immersion while good voice acting can amplify the immersion created during that moment. Sound can also be used when you unlock a new item or achievement this will most often be a satisfying ding or tune that will make you want to play more to hear the sound again this most of the time is what inspires some people to seek out and “100%” the game by getting all the achievements and collectables. In the Resident Evil 2 remake the sounds are used for a variety of different effects for example when your being chased the sound of a heartbeat will get louder and louder as it gets closer with some intense music this builds up tension that increases throughout the entire game; The Remake uses sound to create tension wherever you go, with the footsteps of Mr X or the water on the floor in some rooms, the remake has a plethora of click like sounds and uses a bunch of slow build ups of music when exploring new areas to give an eerie feeling that something could be there.
Sounds design has worsened games that could have been better than they are for example, for example Yoshi’s crafted world as in my research it’s a well designed and fun game apart from the music that is too in tune with kids with almost no rhyme or rhythm and played with recorders and xylophones. This was thought of as mostly overdone by many of the fans and could have been improved by laying back on the theme a bit and giving it more theme and rhythm.
Overall sound is important for games to create a theme and increase immersion for the duration of the scene. When this is done poorly it can ruin or hinder a game that could have otherwise been good or more popular, some people will work around this by modding the game and creating their own soundtracks or just turning off the music volume and playing with either none or their own.
i put all my files into after effects and animated them all using positions, opacity and scale tools then added key frames so that i could edit them in between; i also color coded my different textures:
brown -trees
red - apples
green - 3 layers of background
blue - clouds
i finished my second moving image and uploaded it to youtube so that i can add it to this site
after finishing this one if i was going to improve on it i would add some more sound effects make birds fly through the sky and some plants grow during the video so that there is more going on around the animation. i think my second image turned out better than my first this may be because it was more simple sprites making it easier to animate and cut the images into separate parts.
