My dog, Peja, and I at the groomers.
Ever since I was young, I have had pets. I've had numerous dogs, cats, chinchillas, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, and rabbits. My love for animals started early and my family calls me the "animal whisper" because I haven't found an animal that doesn't automatically like me. I love animals so much and just taking care of them I almost pursued the veterinary and zoology field. I also have done many volunteer opportunities involving animals. My most memorable one was when I was a part of the I Wanna Go Home Rescue from my hometown. My family would foster dogs and cats, old and young until they were adopted. There were times when we had whole litters of puppies running around our house. It was a great experience and most definitely was one of my favorites.
Peja was an amazing dog and I am very grateful that I was able to know him for as long as I did. We were the same age, so we grew up together. He was my buddy in a time of need and I swear he understood everything I said. Peja was my moral support animal. He was just the greatest animal I have ever known.
Mala was the definition of a gentle giant. She was very scared of everything, though. Mala was a sweetheart and would even lie down next to my baby brother to watch him. She was a sensitive soul and loved everyone (when she was comfortable). Mala was just the living image of a lover and not a fighter.
Patches was my first ever cat. I actually got the idea of wanting a cat named Patches from an episode of Elmo that I was watching when I was younger. So, she has been with me for a long time and now lives at my Aunt's house. She is a very nice and supportive cat but she can be quite petty if she doesnt get what she wants.
Odie is my newest furry friend in my life. I adopted him from the Indiana House Rabbit Society. He is the sweetest rabbit I have ever met. His favorite things are cilantro and having the zoomies. Odie is also registered as my emotional support animal so he lives with me wherever I go. He is super friendly and honestly reminds me of a puppy. He is just the best, especially as some moral support through college and the start of adult life.
