Our January meeting was held in Kathy H.'s home. Our goal for this evening is to vote on new members and officers for the next biennium. Kathy H., filling in for Jan O., asked who would attend the state convention. Barbara D., Claudette M., and Peggy H. responded in the affirmative. Kathy L. distributed an information sheet with places to record altruistic totals for March 2023 through February 2024. Members were reminded that there will be no project for March. Instead, our chapter will provide breakfast for the District I meeting on March 9th. Kathy H. reminded members that the District I meeting will count as our March chapter meeting, and the chapter will cover registration for the meeting. Julie M. reviewed new membership procedures and distributed ballots for voting on each prospective member. Cheryl delivered goodies during exam week based on the girls’ wish lists.
The girls will receive their Marilyn Sharp Textbook Fund gift cards for the spring term, which help with books and other school materials needed. Camille P. reminded members of upcoming GNO social activities–a girls’ lunch at Camille’s on January 20th. New members will be invited, and members in attendance will cover their lunches. This will allow sisters to get to know the new members. Several members have signed up to attend one or both of two concerts coming up: FSU’s Opening Nights, the Simon and Garfunkel Story, and Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra’s Classical Mystery Tour: Tribute to the Beatles.
