1990s rehearsal and evaluation

To allow us sufficient time to practice our setlists for the upcoming gig, we were told to only rehearse one 90s song to perform, which in our band was 'iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls. To diversify our band's instrumental range even more, we used a mandolin just like there is in the original version of the song. Throughout the song, we implemented small sections of violin and mandolin playing together, as we found that they complement each other very nicely. To make things more interesting, we emphasised the stop-time of the breakdown in the middle of the song. This had such a huge effect on the feel of the music, which is exactly how we intended for it to affect the song. All in all, this song was definitely one of our most solid and perfected of our entire decade setlist combined.
