Anglian 1000
This was an interesting find, thanks to Roger G3VKM spotting it on eBay under vintage equipment (rather than the usual Ham Radio). I have not managed to find out much about it. It was made by Light Electronic Developments in Suffolk in the mid (?) 60's.
Info from G0CZS is that the factory was behind the now-closed filling station on the A137 at Tattingstone, and that the designer was John Bays (G3KFX then VK2SB) who emigrated to Australia in the 1970's. It seems all the documents he had were lost in a house flood some years back. Sadly John passed away in November 2013 (tnx G3ZQU).
I would greatly appreciate ANY more information. A circuit would be really helpful. My email contact details are in www.qrz.com under G4BWP and my phone number is here towards the bottom of the page.
Some of the features were very modern for the day with dual VFOs built in and the PA is a pair of 4CX250s capable of 1 kw input hence the "1000" model name. This is all in a desk top cabinet but with a very heavy external power supply.
Being in East Anglia myself I would like to get it back on the air one day. I would also like to hear from anyone else who owns one?

Back view. I hope there is a screen or cover missing! The PA coil is wound on a piece of 2x2 wood with notches to separate the wires.
View of the top from the rear. Showing the dual dials from the inside. Its looks like a "special" dial from Eddystone? The cover nearest the camera is the VFO box. It is packed with polystyrene. It looks like the VFO is transistorised.
View of the bottom with the covers in place. The "DOB" (no idea!) plate covers the PA grid compartment.
Under the bottom cover showing the intricate band-switch action
It has a single 9 MHz crystal filter
