Main Transceiver - Yaesu FTDX101D.
Amp - OM Power 4000A
Second radio/standby amp - 4O3A Flex PGXL
Spare Amps - Alpha 77SX, Amp Supply Co LK800A. Nice to have a choice!
6m Transceiver - FTDX101D #2 - the best rig I could find for 6m with truly independent Receivers
6m amp - OM-Power 3006 - simply awesome!
4m - After about 30 years I am back on 4m (Jan 2013). I am now using the FTDX101D as my 4m rig with the Linear Amp UK Gemini amplifier and a 7ele yagi.
2m - I am QRV on 2m EME (and terrestrial). I have an IC9700, a Beko HLV-2000 solid state amp and 4 x 14 ele from YU Antennas
70cms - Also using a third IC9700, a Belo HLV-1470 and a box of 4 Antenna-Amplifiers 23 ele Yagis
QO-100 - Another IC9700 dedicated to QO100 (it saves changing all the settings to changes bands!) with a PE1RAH duplex transvertor system and a 1m dish. This treally is a nice system and worked right out of the box. I had added a 2m RF signal splitter to use a Yaesu FT991A as a "sub" receiver for SSB split pile-ups which has really helped my sucess rate.
Datamodes - I have given uo on "interfaces" and now use a USB conenction to each radio for sound and control. For Data I usually use MSHV. When doing EME especially on 6m I run the lastest Improved version of WSJT-X in parallel as occasionally it catches a decode MSHV does not. For weak signals (6m) on FT8 I sometimes run JTDX in parallel with MSHV
RTTY - Rarely on RTTY these days, when I do I use MMTTY
CW - Keying from a microHAM CW KEYER. This provides a "Winkey" interface as well as a standalone CW keyer.
Keyer paddle - I have a few paddles and like some more than others. Currently I am using a GHD Telegraph Iambic paddle which I bougt when I visited Tokyo Ham Fair in 2025. I also have a 9A5D Touch paddle, a TW Magpad, a Schurr Profi, Vibrokeyers (single and Iambic) and the ETM-SQ paddle which is another favourite.
Travel radio - I had not done any operating outside the shack for some years and now I have an FT891 and an FT710 for travel use (Little and Large!). See below for QO-100 DXpedition plans. I have a 2nd FT991A in my workshop which is a useful multi-band radio for testing purposes, and potential travel use.
Travel QO-100 station - I'm starting to build up a travel staion for QO-100. So far I have a SatRover transvertor and an IC705 driver. I also got a Xiegu GPA100 to use on HF/6 with the IC705 to save taking along a 2nd rig
