The main rig (on the right) is crystal controlled, with a VXO to tune either side of the crystal frequency. It is also "pre-tuned" via some screwdriver slots on the rear panel. It is largely solid-state but with a valved driver and PA stage. Underneath the rig is the ac psu. A separate, dc driven, psu is used for mobile use. The RF power is around 30 watts on dc and on ac there is a higher HT tapping for a little more power. On the left is the optional FV-50 VFO which allowed full frequency coverage.
The FT75 was possibly replaced with the FT75B which has a different PA valve to give a little more power. It may be that the 75 was a Japanese market model and the 75B for outside Japan.
I now also have an FT-75B but its condition is "well used". More comparisons later.
