Imagine wildflowers in bloom, fresh vegetables in shared gardens, and tree-lined paths for future generations. The Fawdon & Coxlodge Greenways project is a community-led initiative to rewild, plant, and protect our local green spaces.
Launching in 2025, we’ll work together to enhance biodiversity, improve footpaths, and create a cleaner, greener neighbourhood. Have your say in our public consultation and help shape the future of our community!
Imagine a community where vibrant wildflowers bloom, fresh vegetables grow in shared gardens, and trees provide shade for future generations. That’s the vision behind the Fawdon & Coxlodge Greenways project —bringing people together to rewild, plant, and protect our local green spaces.
Fawdon & Coxlodge Greenways is a community-driven initiative dedicated to enhancing green spaces, promoting biodiversity, and creating sustainable, accessible routes through the Fawdon and Coxlodge districts. By planting flowers, shrubs and trees, improving footpaths, and fostering local wildlife, we aim to reconnect residents with nature while making the area cleaner, greener, and more enjoyable for everyone.
The project begins in 2025 with public consultation, inviting residents to share their ideas and concerns. Next, the community will elect their favourite green space, identifying key areas for improvement. Based on the results of an online survey, a small pilot project—designed and implemented by local volunteers—will test new greening solutions in 2025-2026.
After assessing the pilot’s success, the initiative will be expanded to create a network of vibrant, eco-friendly spaces across Fawdon and Coxlodge, ensuring long-term environmental and community benefits.
