Let’s come together for exciting tree-planting days to restore the greenery we’ve lost and improve the air we breathe. We’ll team up with the council to plant native hedgerows that provide much-needed shelter for birds, small mammals, and other wildlife. Through our “Adopt a Tree” program, residents will have the chance to take ownership of young trees, committing to water and care for them as they grow strong. To ensure these trees thrive, we’ll run workshops to teach volunteers essential skills like pruning and tree care, so our urban forest is well-maintained for years to come.
Ecologically, we’ll prioritize drought-resistant native trees, reducing the need for frequent watering, and plant diverse mixed hedgerows rather than single-species rows to boost resilience and biodiversity. By using mulching techniques, we’ll enrich the soil naturally, supporting healthy growth. On the economic side, we’ll source free saplings from local tree-planting charities, keeping costs down. Our “Sponsor a Tree” initiative will encourage businesses and individuals to contribute to planting efforts, while training volunteers in tree care will ensure the project remains cost-effective and sustainable in the long term. This is more than just planting trees—it’s about creating a greener, healthier community that thrives for generations!
