Additional Information Section
Many applications provide an Additional Information section to allow elaboration on special circumstances or any topic of your choice.
Use this section if:
If you are applying to more selective schools.
If you believe that other essay opportunities provided have not allowed you to convey your entire story. The Additional Information section is a good opportunity to further describe yourself.
Tips for the Additional Information Section
Take advantage of the Additional Information section to write about anything else you think should be considered by the colleges you are applying to. This is another opportunity to convey information about yourself:

Another significant experience that shaped you.
Further explanations for any of your clubs or activities.
Obstacles you have overcome.
Family or personal situations that may have affected your grades or test scores.
Specific opportunities at the college that have compelled you to apply. (Note: The Common App allows unlimited updates to the essays. Just be sure to remove references to other colleges from the main section when you submit your application to a college.)
Space in college application forms will vary, but most allow for approximately one page, single spaced. The Common App provides for up to 650 words.
