Fit4Work in the Community is a package of activities designed for community stakeholders, families and individuals with developmental disabilities to explore physical activities that will prepare them for work. Community stakeholders can host this fun and engaging 3 hour event to nurture conversations around employment. They could break it down to 2-3 smaller events.
Youth/young adults will engage in interactive activities discussing why its hard to get a job, what skills they need to learn to get a job, engage in physical literacy activities, complete the Fit4Work in the Community Screen and write some goals for themselves. We envision that youth/young adults will attend this training with their caregivers to provide support.
Karen Greeley will host free, 1 hour Communities of Practice Sessions on this program. She will share some Fit4Work basics and then collaborate with you to discuss how this program might be implemented in your community. Email us to schedule!
This interactive presentation contains all the activities for the day. Here is a transcript to pair with slides.
