So what are we preparing students for?

In the video below, Dr Johnson explains why we need to know what the job demands and how we, as stakeholders, can understand what is required to work in community settings.

Only 1/3 of people with disabilities are employed in communities and youth with developmental disabilities struggle to attain employment after graduating from high school. When stakeholders understand what is required for a job it will be easier for them to prepare students.

Curated from sources such as job descriptions from company websites, Indeed and O*Net, below are the requirements for jobs that students might be preparing for.

Job descriptions include Coffee Ship Crew Member, Retail Bagger, Dog care, Cats & Small Animal Care, Merchandise Stocker, Ice Cream Crew Member, Baker & Fast Food Cook
