What is a Bitmoji?

Bitmoji is your own personal emoji. You can create an expressive cartoon avatar, choose from a growing library of moods and stickers featuring YOU!

Bitmoji then takes your image and creates a wide range of sticker-like images with quirky, fun messages. You can use these in your email, text messages, social media posts, even as feedback on student documents.

What is a Bitmoji classroom?

Available through the Bitmoji app, these customizable, mini-me avatars have become stand-in teachers running virtual classrooms, enforcing rules and expectations, collecting assignments.

You can also find online many ideas and new features to add to your Bitmoji classroom like a sticker or gif of you!

Teachers say they’ve found that Bitmojis can be a helpful and fun way to get students to remember the rules and expectations in their virtual classrooms.

Task 1: Google Classroom

1. Create a Free Google Classroom

2. In Google Classroom, create a demo class development shell.

a. Content Area: Your Choice (Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Community..., etc.)

b. Grade Level: Your Choice (PreK-Grade 5)

3. Make sure people can join your demo Google Classroom by the Class Code you provided.

4. You do not need to build any content in the demo class for this assignment. But, You will need to use this shell to build your Genius Hour Project later in the semester.

Task 2: Bitmoji Banner

1. Download "Bitmoji Google Chrome Extension

2. Open a blank canvas in "Google Drawings

a. Google Classroom Banner Size: 8.33*2.08 inches OR 1000*250 pixels

3. Design a Bitmoji Classroom Banner for the demo class.

a. Be Creative! Personalized it to your own aesthetic.

b. (Optional) If you are feeling challenge yourself, make it into a GIF file using free online GIF maker "gifmaker.me

5. Upload/Embed the banner to your Google Classroom demo classroom shell.

Task 3: Reflection Journal

1. Write a 250-300 words reflection journal.
