İlker-Eren Çevik Anadolu Lisesi is an academical High School located in Silifke, Mersin - South of Turkey on the coast of Mediterranean. It is a public school with 770 pupils, aged 14-19 and 47 teachers. Classes consist of aproximately 34 students. There are 24 classes at our school. Pupils get lessons such as Turkish Language and Literature, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Philosophy, Religion and Moral, ICT, Physical Education, Drama, Art and Music.

We prepare them for the University entrance exam.

They also learn English as a foreign language and German as a second foreign language at our school.

Activities and experience, skills and/or expertise

One of our project objective is “-To promote inclusion and diversity improving the outreach to people with fewer opportunities, including people living in rural and remote areas such as outermost regions, people facing gender inequalities, socio-economic difficulties.”

Most of our students come from rural areas and they have socio-economic difficulties as well as facing gender inaqualities. As a teacher, we try to help our students to overcome these disadvantages. Thus as a school we have experiences in guiding people facing these kind of difficulties.

The other objective of our project is – “To address digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity to manage an effective shift including the development of digital pedagogy and expertise in the use of digital tools for teachers.” As mentioned above most of our students come from rural areas thus they have less chance to access the technology in their daily life. As a school we try to promote their digital abilities. Thus we have ICT class at school.

Further more we try to supply some opportunities to our students encouraging them participating in some projects such as Erasmus+, e-Twinning,etc.

Another objective of our project is –“ To promote common EU values as well as their cultural identity, cultural awareness and their social and historical heritage”, and our city Silifke is rich for its culture with its musical bacground and folk dance.

Both its music and folk dance are famous across the country. Furthermore it has international folk dance and culture feast.

As a citizienship of this city, we take part in these international activities actively every year. Our city has lots of historical values such as castles, bridges, amphitheatre which are more than 2000 years old. Lots of civilitations lived at this territory during the history thus we have priceless cultural richness.
