This episode opens in Medellin in 1989. After having presidential candidate Galan assassinated, Escobar set up a bounty system for any and all cops and sergeants in Columbia, at one million dollars per cop killed. However, runner up Dr. Gaviria is persisting on the extradition of all narcos. Now, Escobar isn't only after every cop in Columbia, but Dr. Gaviria too. Agent Murphy and Pena are trying to get their communist informant Elisa out of the country unnoticed by the narcos or the U.S. Government. Elisa is hiding out with Murphy's wife, Connie, when they decide to get her out of the country. Pena illegally gets U.S. Embassy credentials made for Elisa. Murphy's superiors suspect his informants are communist, so they wiretap Murphy's car. Murphy catches the wire tap though, misleading the spies while Connie and Elisa get away in a separate car. Pena and Carrillo are in Cartagena tracking down Gacha, having received information from Navegante, Gacha’s security. Pena and Carrillo track down Gacha's hiding spot, but he's already gone to a separate estate in Tolu. Once there, they corner him. As Gacha tries to get away by truck with his son, they shoot him down from a helicopter. While they're busy with Gacha, Murphy works on a routine surveillance tip. A man called The Spaniard, a bomb-maker from Spain that primarily targets politicians, was picked up at the airport by Poison. Murphy’s convinced that Gaviria’s the target. It takes Murphy a few tries, but Gaviria eventually listens and doesn’t get on the plane. Murphy was right -- the bomber is set to for the same flight as Gaviria and still boards. The bomb is detonated mid-flight, while Gaviria leaves the airport safe and sound.
