Murphy and Peña discuss the death of Murphy's cat. They look to find out who was in charge of breaking into Murphy's home and killing the cat. The two meet with Suarez who decides to help them with a little bit of encouragement. Forming a roadblock with the help of Carillo, they are hoping to catch Poison, the man thought to be the one behind killing the cat. Away from the DEA, Escobar decides to run for congress with the help of his mistress Valeria. Escobar’s wife Tata goes into labor after demanding that Escobar end his affair with Valeria. She gives birth to a daughter. Peña and Murphy seek anyone who can give them dirt on Escobar ahead of the election, but find that Escobar’s men always get there first. Eventually, they find the photographer who took Escobar’s mug shot, and get the photo negative from him. Jairo Ortega wins the seat in congress, but resigns to make room for Escobar. Escobar attends his first meeting of congress, where he is surprised by an address by the Minister of Justice, Lara. Lara unveils the mug shot of Escobar in front of congress, and calls for his resignation. Lara launches a campaign against the Narcos. At first, Escobar resists, but eventually he resigns.
