Learners will keep a “studio performance practice and preparation blog” that includes
relevant video’s photos and explanations of their progress. Learners should include
evidence (Video/ Audio) of discussions with production students each week. Learners will
regularly incorporate techniques learnt from their task 1 research to improve their
performance skills and create a demo/ guide track prior to the task 3 final recording
session.
Within this blog i will explain the recording process i went through at the sound gallery, during this task i ended up running into quite a lot of issues which therefore stopped me from participating in the making of the guide track. Although a lot of stuff didnt go right for me this time, i did luckily end up still going to the phoenix and recording a song.
To start off, during the start of this process i was part of GRLBND. I was only in one of the sessions in the studio to start making a guide track as the band started this task quite late in the term, due to some personal differences i was sadly removed from the band having to try and figure out what else i could potentially do for this task. Despite working super hard whilst working on the GRLBND song i had to step aside and watch the girls record our song without me and for a while i thought i would miss out on the opportunity of going to sound gallery.
After accepting that i wouldnt be a part of any recording process i got sent a lovely message from Frazer in my class offering me to step in and sing for The Chow Chows as to begin with Issy was the singer (she left the band due to personal differences) and Frazer was originally stepping in for her. As Frazer was already in another band he thought it would be nice for me to have the opportunity to go to sound gallery despite it not being a song that i had any input with. The song that i have ended up recording is "Stuck in rewind" which was was originally written and sang by the very talented Issy Gale, Frazer was part of the making of the guid track for this band singing on the guid track.

To start off the process of me learning stuck in rewind i had to start by listening to the song a few times in order to familiarise myself with the song as i remembered the melody of the song from when Issy would perform in in our LPW lessons. Before going to the sound gallery i think i practiced the song through with The Chow Chows 3 times as it was so last minute. Despite only having a few days to prepare myself to do a completely new song with a new band i feel that i handled it incredibly well and even put my own spin on the song. Rather than singing all the choruses in the same way i did a slight opt up in the last chorus of the song as although it wasnt my song i still wanted to add some of my own touches to the song as i was the one that ended up recording it at The Sound Gallery.
This was one of the first and last run throughs that we did of Stuck in rewind, overall despite me having minimul rehearsal time i worked very hard to learn the lyrics and remember the melody of the song. As i didnt fully know the song before hand i struggled with the timings of when i had to come in, the band were super helpful as when i didnt know when to start i would look at any member of the band and they would give me a look to indicate that it was time.
