The Montessori method is an educational approach that emphasises child-centered, self-directed learning through hands-on activities and collaborative play. Its primary goals are to foster independence, self-confidence, and a lifelong love for learning, while nurturing the individual's unique abilities and interests.
I love being a lawyer because it's a career that allows me to continue learning. And I hope that I can pass on to my son the same love for learning, the curiosity to ask questions and explore, and to both be independent and independent-minded.
I studied for a diploma in the Montessori educational philosophy for infants/toddlers from the North American Montessori Center — NAMC. I did it, not so much because I think it's necessary to have it to apply it, but because I felt like the course would give me a deeper understanding of the theory as originally created by Maria Montessori and developed subsequently; the discipline to apply it in everyday life; and the knowledge to troubleshoot and be flexible in the practice of it.
