VanderBeken Remodel
Local Association: Master Builders Association of King & Snohomish Counties
Struggling with their bland and compromised 1958 primary bathroom, the client knew it was time to address the damage and to add universal design features.
While the entire bathroom needed a makeover, an enlarged shower was the focus. The shower entry drywall and framing were removed to open the space.
A continuous matte porcelain tile was chosen, and a sturdy glass enclosure was added to create a spacious zero-threshold shower. Other universal design features include a handheld shower spray with a height-adjusting bar, easy-to-reach towel hooks, and attractive grab bars.
A custom vanity was added with motion sensor lighting in the toe kick, a clever combination of standard and deep vanity drawers, and an inset medicine cabinet. The shower accent wall and shampoo niche showcase an eye-catching cobalt hex tile.
The clients were thrilled to see their vision become a reality.
