Madeira Waves

This beautiful asymmetrical scarf takes its name and inspiration from the old wavy Shetland lace pattern, the "Madeira Cascade", here combined with a bright background of deep turquoise blue, reverberating the Mediterranean connection, and the fusion of two different worlds through the art of knitting...

The scarf starts at the smallest point, and finishes at the largest, which is the cast off edge. There are various sections of Garter Stitch, Stocking Stich, wavy bands and short lace knitting, which are all indicated in sequence and in detail in the pattern (the lace pattern is also charted for convenience), and keep you entertained as you knit through the project..!

Madeira waves measures approximately 150cm x 95cm (at widest point) after blocking, using 2 skeins (200g) of Burrow & Soar sock wool (75% Superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon).

The pattern is available to purchase here.
