Lightsaber
Lightsaber
A long ambition of mine was to design and construct my own personal lightsaber. The design itself went through multiple versions, resulting in a structurally supported hilt.
Over the span of this project, I learnt:
The complexities of distinctive design standards such as tolerance and dimensioning
To design for structural efficiency
Working with 30-gauge wiring and circuit boards; specifically, being able to solder connections
Material and cost differences between machined aluminum, printed metal, nylon powder printing, and resin 3D printing during the prototyping stage of development
Overall, this is a great project that I spent over 30+ hours on and am extremely happy with the turnout
