I started work on this project in mid-September 2022 and have made considerable progress in developing an Exo-suit which can be worn and functions like an enhanced appendage. I started this project because I’ve always been fascinated with the Iron Man suit as a child and wanted to create something similar. This is my passion project and I seek to continue working on it throughout university.
Goals:
First prototype: Move with a person’s existing limbs, creating a ‘weightless’ exoskeleton using linear electric and electromagnetic actuators
Be easy equipped and taken off by the user though various mechanical locking mechanisms
Final Thoughts:
The controls function well, however there are some inconsistencies when fully engaged, possibly caused by the mechanical hinge system
Functions as designed with minuet flaws which can easily be fixed with a second version
