Self assessment

Self-assessments are an effective authentic assessment method as it helps students stay within their zone of proximal development. By having students self-assess they take control of their learning and it helps them to recognize they needs and seek clarification when working on concepts. It is also helpful for educators as students identify their level of understanding. This allows the teacher to move on or reteach concepts that were not mastered.
