A daily diet/ healthy diet helps protect against malnutrition and as well as diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and strokes. A typical healthy diet includes:
Fruits, legumes, vegetables, nuts and whole grains
At least 400 g of fruit and vegetables
Less than 10% of total energy intake from free sugars
Less than 30% of total energy intake from fats
Less than 5 g of salt per day
In a daily diet it is important to consume foods that have nutrients. The six essential: minerals, protein, vitamins, carbohydrates, fat, and water.
