In this page you will find those who reviewed our Interactive Learning Resource (embedded into the content which you can click on to view their review). In each review, they include what they liked in our resource, and what they thought we could improve on. In this page, we will respond to each of our peer reviewers and give an explanation to why we did or did not follow their advice for our resource! Thank you to all who took the time to use our resource and provide us with feedback! We appreciate you all :)
Hi Chaumon!
Your peer review was very kind as it provided us with positive feedback on our layout and template used. One of the things that we changed after receiving Chaumon's review was altering the home page as there were sections that did not need to be included.
Hi XiTong!
Thank you for providing us with a wonderful peer review. You mentioned that there needs to be an increase of interaction between the learners and the teacher when they need help. We took your advice and decided to implement "office hours" providing the students with time to ask questions if needed.
Hi Xinh!
Thank you for your detailed review. We forgot to publish topic 4 and that is why it was not showing up for you. With your review we were able to finalize our learning theory and design and publish it in our ILR.
NAN ZHENG'S PEER REVIEW
I reviewed Pod 3’s resource on Basic Nutrition in our Dally Diet. When building the learning design, I like the clear and precise concepts. Furthermore, I believe the issue is simple to follow and fascinating enough for viewers to become involved.
A few key points I would like to point out are:
1. I really liked the overview part where you introduced why you chose this topic and were very clear about the time students could get after studying this topic. I am not sure how long this class will take me to complete, whether it is a few weeks or a few months, but I am very vague about the time frame for learning.
2. I did not see any description of the design of the study or the rationale for it. But based on the content of your task, can I assume that the description of your learning design is an open-ended approach? Does it allow students to see the results of their learning?
3. all the resources used are a good choice because it comes with closed captioning. This helps all types of learners. The combination of pictures and videos does help people understand the content more easily. It is very convenient especially for people who are not native English speakers.
4. In terms of interaction design, I was curious about how to have an effective interaction with the teacher, as I didn't see any direct communication tools. Is this likely to cause some degree of difficulty for students trying to get communication, or communicate with the teacher?
I didn't see any assessment factors for the design, I only saw the requirements for each assignment and the percentage of marks. Grades can increase the interest of the audience because there is an expectation, but students who show up just to participate in the grade are not actively learning. Is it possible to give some level of process for presenting results?
6. The diversity of learning technologies makes it possible to offer diverse learning styles. But I don't see a technology section for related aspects.
Overall, I think this is a good draft of your learning design and I look forward to seeing the final results.
Hi Nan Zheng!
Thank you for your feedback! We added the description and the rationale after your feedback. We have also added office hours to provide the students with more interaction with their teachers. We also went ahead and added in an assessment plan allowing students to develop a better understanding on how we plan to evaluate them
Hi Muskan!
Thank you for amazing feedback! As you mentioned learners might have a rather hard time navigating through a website! We really liked your idea about adding the related links into our content, we added the hyper links into our ILR in hopes of making everything much clearer for our learners.
Hi Hailey!
Thank you for providing our group with a very detailed peer review. We have altered our home page and it no longer has the extra pages that said "email" "phone number" "name". We also went in and changed any grammatical or word errors that were made.
