DEFINITION OF NUTRIENTS
Essential nutrients are substances that our bodies are unable to produce in sufficient quantities. Micronutrients and macronutrients are the two basic types of nutrients. Our bodies do not generate micronutrients, thus they must be obtained through our everyday diets. Vitamins and minerals are examples of micronutrients. Macronutrients are nutrients that our bodies consume in huge amounts on a regular basis. Carbohydrates, protein, fat, and water are all macronutrients. A well-balanced diet should provide enough amounts of both groups of nutrients.

IMPORTANCE OF NUTRIENTS
Nutrients are the fuel that allows the body to break down food and then use it to repair and grow cells and tissue, which is what our metabolism is all about. Without food, we become weak, unwell, and, in the worst-case scenario, die. We miss developmental milestones and are unable to put our bodies through the mental and physical challenges that we require on a daily basis. We can't develop, and we might not be able to reproduce. A nutritious diet promotes healthy pregnancy outcomes, supports normal growth, development, and ageing, aids in body weight maintenance, and lowers the risk of chronic disease, all of which contribute to overall health and well-being.

EFFECTS OF NUTRIENTS
Nutrients have a wide range of effects on human health, including immunological and blood cells, muscular, and cognitive ability. Your body breaks down food to obtain the substances it requires: proteins, lipids, carbs, vitamins, and minerals. Your body will be unable to function correctly without these items. And the consequences of poor nutrition can be disastrous. Lacking the vitamins and minerals your body need can lead to a variety of issues. A lack of iron makes it difficult for your body to produce new blood. Vitamin A insufficiency can result in blindness. Vitamin B shortage can harm your nerves and muscles, induce diarrhoea, create skin problems, and prevent your brain from developing properly. The list might go on forever.
The importance of fruits and vegetables in one's health cannot be overstated. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as a variety of them, is the best thing you can do for your health. Eat a rainbow is a phrase to remember. In your daily life, you should strive to consume a fruit or vegetable of every colour.
