Kids Hope Mentoring program

Our Kids Hope Mentoring program is one of the longest running Kids Hope school partnerships going around. Our close affiliation means we can match up a child in need with a mentor to provide additional levels of support for that child - once a week for one hour. All mentors are fully trained and vetted against the Victorian Child Safety Standards and fully police checked. Whilst it is supported by the church, no religion is involved. Our students in this program will enjoy undivided support from their wonderful mentor through activities like cooking, craft, board games, learning support, outside play and connection building.

Kids Hope Mentors provide 1:1 support for students that may be in need of some extra TLC, support with social skills, have experienced trauma or loss, students that may find it hard making friends or have endured challenging family dynamics and whom would benefit from having a mentor.

How lucky we are at Eastwood that the Ringwood Church of Christ has partnered with us for so many years and provided this valuable service to support the diverse needs of our students. Our partnership works in both ways as we also support the church back through our soup donations from our Kitchen Garden program and our annual food drive campaigns which our Chaplain (Brendan) & Marina help to coordinate.

Recently, we had a film crew come to the school to create a mini feature film about our school's Kids Hope Mentoring program. We look forward to sharing it with you all when the final edits have been made.
