Quests are what you'd consider activity rolls. Rather than relying solely on RNG, however, Quests can get you customized loot based on a series of prompts you may include to depict in your entry!
A basic Quest result consists of a random amount of Gold, the results of up to three prompts with random item amounts, and one random rare item roll, which can include items such as unhatched Yore eggs, Artifact fragments, and crafting items.
At minimum, a Quest needs one prompt. Some Skills or items will allow you to stack extra prompts, or gain more loot from the prompts you pick!
Leveling up a Yore also gives some base level improvements, such as an improvement on item quantity from basic prompts.
A Quest's prompts can consist of Task, Basic, and Extra prompts. Each quest may have up to three prompts which are either Task or Basic. Extra prompts modify your chances of certain items, or give a chance for an NPC encounter or a special reward, BUT these prompts introduce a chance for your Yore to be injured!
Prompts are open ended and meant to be one of several themes depicted in a certain art or writing piece! Your Yore's prompt may be fulfilled by the Yore's actions or mood, or more abstract elements such as the scene they're placed in or the weather being shown. For example, Searching High may be fulfilled by a Yore climbing on something (their actions), or simply being on something tall such as a mountain (the scene). Prompts may overlap for the same circumstance; Finding Something New and Overwhelmed might be fulfilled by a Yore's reaction to the same unusual scenario.
When in doubt, you're encouraged to give a brief explanation of which part of your Quest is tied to each Prompt! They do not have to be shown overly literally, but should be easily recognizable in the Quest.
You may depict up to four Yorebeasts in an individual Quest. They should be participating in the same Task Prompt if there is one, but their Basic and Extra Prompts may be different!
For art, at minimum, a Yore must be 50% visible, colored, and show a simple background.
For writing, at minimum, a Yore must be present in 500 words, and additional Yores add 250 words each to this minimum.
