Woken up by the morning sun, I stretch my neck.
Beside me is Partner who's fast asleep, growling and snoring with a bubble of snot inflating in her nose.
As I start the day with a yawn, I'm greeted by an abundance of rainbow-colored Rank A- flowers, Leygla, swaying elegantly in the morning breeze.

"............"

It's fine. They don't bother me anymore.
They may be expensive precious items to the public, but to us, they're just pretty flowers with a sweet taste.
Besides, it's highly unlikely that humans will come here. And so, they shall be my breakfast. Thank you for the food.

Still...... it's morning now, huh.

Yesterday, I was mentally exhausted after a nearly full-day of flight, plus an unprecedented attack from a headless naked man, so I'm surprised we've made it through the night safely.
I slept with my body curled in a circle, so now my tail is near my face, and inside the middle is a sleeping Alo.
With this sleeping position, we won't have to worry about anyone inside getting attacked first.
As for the night watch, me and Partner were exchanging shifts, but......

"Gra~a~a~a~a......... gra~a~a~a~aaa............"

...... T-This sleepy head.
I bet she was bored with guard duty and ate more Leygla to pass the time, which only ended up putting her to sleep 'cause she ate too much.

I take a peek inside the circle.
I can see Alo lying on top of a bed of Leygla, Petite Nightmare went too far and built a nest of web that she stuck on my body, and Treant is leaning on my tail.

I waited for everyone to wake up before flying towards the gigantic tree at the west side of the island.
That's the most conspicuous place in this entire island. If there aren't any big monsters living there, settling down on this island would be much safer.

And, I...... also want to secure our food supply too.
I hate to admit it, but that Adam we ate gave plenty of nutrients for me to move around today.
We should be fine without eating any food for a few days, but we still need to find a stable food source somewhere.
Hunger can lower our HP and MP and even lead to exhaustion.

Back in the Lithuvar Tribe's forest, if I were to hunt seriously, I'd be endangering the livelihood of the Lithuvar Tribe, so I only ate a moderate amount of food.
I have a big body, so if I eat until I'm satisfied, the ecosystem will end up in a disaster.
But, there should be no problem if I overhunt here.
I want to experience a feast again.

There's a cliff near the giant tree.
It's so steep, it's scary.
That tree...... how many meters tall is it?
Even with my large body, I feel so tiny.
300...... No, 400 meters in height, I think?
The closer I go, the more I feel overwhelmed by its sheer size.
Why did my morning stroll have to be this pressuring.

I wonder how Treant feels about seeing a tree this big.
...... T-That didn't come out as an insult, right?

Anyway, I'm not seeing any other monsters around these parts.
I'm starting to wonder if that Adam already killed everything else on this island, since I can't seem to spot anything.
There might be something on top of that big tree, but the height difference is just too great, I can't see anything up there.

Looking at the coastal areas, there are a flock of birds flying wildly near the sea.
Just when I was wondering if I could eat them...... I notice that they have a woman's head.

Since it's Rank B, does that mean it's on par with the Manticore or Mother? Are each one of those birds as strong as a Manticore individually?
Probably best not to carelessly approach them when they're flocking together.

Looking around the beach, there doesn't seem to be any pile of human bones anywhere.
Well, that's understandable since humans don't come here very often......

Still, a bird with a human head and a giant human with no head, all the creatures I've seen on this island don't look appetizing at all!
I wish there's at least one decent-looking (appearance-wise) monster to prey on in this giant tree......
When I look up at the tree, a pink head is looking back at me from one of the tree's branches.
It looks ...... excited (?), since it's breathing heavily and drooling while fixing its gaze at me.
Could it be interested in new visitors, perhaps?

A snake......? A lizard......? Or, is it a dragon?
It looks like I could eat that, but...... I'm a dragon too.
Won't it be considered cannibalism then?
It doesn't look big though.
About 3 meters in length.

L-Let's check its status first......
If I keep checking the status of every new monster I meet here, I can guess what the average level of power is on this island.

I lowered my jaw after hearing that last part.
Giver is currently sticking its tongue out, licking its lips, and slamming its tail on the branch it's sticking on.

...... I look away from the lustful dragon.

I suddenly don't feel like approaching the giant tree anymore......
Can't this island house a normal-looking monster for once?
I don't mind if it's powerful, as long as they aren't weird in any way.

I make a pit stop on top of a small hill near the giant tree.
I've gotten quite close to the giant tree already, and I can even see its humongous roots from up here.

While I was merely gazing at the magnificence of the great tree, I noticed that there's a part of the tree's roots that have an exposed opening.
It looks like it leads to a large stone entrance.
There's even some kind of wrecked building near the entrance.
Is it manmade?
It looks ancient...... does that mean there used to be humans who lived here? Could they still be here?
Though, it's also possible that those structures are made by Adams......
