The wight that was scattered everywhere was restored with〖Fake Life〗and Partner started showing interest on the Abyss’s corpse.
I tried to stop her, but it looks like Partner really wants to see if she could eat the Abyss or not.
That reminds me, I’m getting hungry.
Since I don’t think I can still walk right, I had to bear with it and let Partner get close to the Abyss.

Partner nervously approached the Abyss’s head and shut her nostrils.
Slightly closing her eyelids and extending her tongue, she puts her mouth close to the Abyss.

And then, before her tongue made contact, she widely opened her eyes.
Partner’s eyes and the Abyss’s eyes stare at each other.

“Gra~a……”

Partner retracts her tongue back and pulls her head out while crying as if feeling sad.

…… Well, just as I thought, this was and is never something meant to be eaten.
But, of course.
Besides, if Partner starts sticking close to the Abyss, that’s gonna be quite troublesome.

Partner shakes her head and looks at me with wet eyes.
Look, I know you’re hungry…… but, we’ll eat something much more better soon.
And, there are still some of those tributes left back in the shrine too.

I left the Abyss’s corpse alone and continued hunting again in the forest.
Since there were meat mixed among those tributes, that means the forest shouldn’t just be filled with disgusting stuff like that Abyss.

I’d also like to try and level up the wight if there is a Rank E or F monster here.
Wight should lose its “I always break apart” trait when it evolves.

I glance at the wight behind me.
The wight lightly raises its head and looks back at me.
…… I wonder if the wight eats something.
I guess not. Well, just by looking at it, it’s not like it has a digestive organ to begin with.
It’s nothing but bones after all.

During the hunt, I found some purplish blue mole and owl-like monsters, but both were quick to get away.
Whenever the mole is within the range of my〖Presence Sense〗, it immediately burrows underground, and I think the owl has a skill to make itself disappear from my〖Presence Sense〗.

Maybe it’s because that there are lots of dangerous monsters here that they can be divided into two, the parasites, like the Abyss, and the fast runners.
Come to think of it, the Manticore didn’t have high stats, but it was also quick on its feet.
What are they running away from, I wonder.
…… If there’s still something out there that’s stronger than all the ones I’ve met here so far, I’m not sure how I’m gonna handle that.

But at this rate, I won’t be able to give Wight a safe fight with another monster.
If I just hunt for food, I think I can manage, but if I capture one alive, weaken it, and let it fight Wight…… then, maybe…

I stop moving, and turn over at Wight.
Wight mimics me and stops as well.

The levels in this forest are a bit too high for Wight.
Is there any other way to level up Wight quickly?

While staring at the wight for a long while, an idea came.
I-I guess that option works.
I could just make my own monster that’s on par with Wight using〖Fake Life〗.

B-But still,〖Fake Life〗controls life and death……
…… Wait, if even a mass of meat can be moved by this skill, I guess inanimate objects works too.
It’s not really blasphemous towards life and death if I’m turning something that was never alive into a monster, so I guess I’m safe, yes.

With this, I can make a monster that’s just perfect to level up Wight, and just to be safe, I’ll do it at the side.
But still, isn’t this too easy?
Although, it’s true that I was desperate to look for a faster way for the wight to level up.
Even if I am making a monster, I should be careful not to make it too strong.

While shaking my head, I spotted a small tree that looks like it just started growing.
The bark was not thick yet, and it has beautiful color of youth. It’s still covered with fresh leaves.
Simply looking at it… yes, I think it’s doable.

I run towards the tree sapling, and upon arriving, I showed the tree sapling to Wight with my jaw.
With my facial expression alone, I try to tell the wight that “This is your opponent”.
Wight seems to have understood, and nodded.

After that, I turned at Partner and growled ‘gru~o’ at her.

“Gra~a……”

Partner is making face as if she wants to put something inside her mouth already.
W-We’ll go back hunting once this is done, okay……
I’ll let you be the one to eat the next meal, so just bear with this please.
And besides, it’s kind of a pity if it keeps breaking apart all the time, so less trouble for you, right?

I think she understood because Partner turned at the young tree and used〖Fake Life〗at it.
The young tree gets enveloped with black light.

When the black light disappeared, a face made out of hollowed out dents formed from the tree sapling.
Its roots sprout out of the ground and scatter the surrounding soil.

“Gi, higyii!”

The hollowed part that looks like a mouth burst open and made a screeching sound.

Just what is this “make your own subordinates” cheat skill that I can use indefinitely?!

Attack and speed are low, but HP and magic are quite fairly high.
It looks like it can be a good support type.

But, when you look at it this way, it might be quite affectionate.
I’m kind of excited to see what it’ll grow up into.
And, with that title skill, it’s not likely to get hostile to me as well.
It may be best to change the schedule for doing this now.

When I called Wight over, it already started moving.
Wight approaches the treant, and moves in behind, avoiding the branches that have been flung down.
And then, she coiled around the treant’s back.
Black mist started leaking from Wight.

The treant tries to shake Wight off.
Meanwhile, Wight continues to cling on even though little parts of its body are getting hurled away.
Bit by bit, bone parts are getting flung away. I think one of them got flung too close to my eye.

“Gyi! Gyi! Higyi!”

The treant’s movements get slower and slower, and its color is turning dull.
And then, it finally stopped moving.
When the treant stopped moving, the wight also stopped releasing black mist.
So it was a skill that steals HP, huh.

The treant was already dead since it couldn’t get any water to replenish itself.
Its leaves completely lost its color, and when the wind blew, its branches fell easily.

I can’t tell whether it was alright for them to stop when I ordered them to fight since all I did was watch the whole thing in silence.
When I came to my senses, Wight was happily approaching me while dragging one of its broken body parts.

O-Okay…… wait no, I should just praise you for doing a good job.
I don’t really know what to say, I can’t quite put my thoughts straight.
