“Kuccha!”“Kuccha!”
The Red Ant commanders of both side collide. After that, the rest ran to the frontlines, and a full-scale battle began.
This is bad. Even though I expected it, I really can’t distinguish enemy from ally. I know that this side is my ally, but if ever their positions change, my senses may start to go crazy. Especially when you look at them next to each other, it’s already hard to tell which is which.
I could accidentally attack an ally in front of me, and the enemy may sneak up from behind. Although I can just let Ball Rabbit help me identify them with Telepathy, I can’t do something so leisurely in the middle of a battle. A moment’s mistake in judgment can result in a fatal error.
But, I can’t just do nothing too. Right now, the number of enemy Red Ants exceed over thirty. The forces from the enemy hive keep coming out.
The total of number of Red Ants on my side are around thirty, and the five Red Ants that went around to intercept from behind haven’t shown up yet. I don’t have to be a genius to figure out that the Red Ants from my side are currently at a disadvantage here.
It’s obvious that the Red Ant army will be wiped out if I don’t lend them a hand. [T.N: Claw?] If the Red Ant army from our side is annihilated, then the chance to take down this nest and gain experience points will be gone.
I don’t think I can take on the enemy Red Ants’ nest by myself. A vision of the giant centipede dumplings being taken by the Red Ants comes to mind.
Even if I go with the poison dumpling strategy and attack them while they’re weakened, Nina’s death penalty will be over by the time the effects show up.
Besides, as a result of the agreement with the Queen Ant, I will need to cooperate with the Red Ants. I don’t want to die in vain due to misjudgment.
After getting lost in thought, I withdraw from the battlefield. I can’t see the whole enemy army in the front. There are times when I can’t see my surroundings. This place is too wide.
After backing away a considerable distance, I’ll provide support until everything calms down. If I’m in a position where I can calmly check the front, I’m certain I won’t mistake friend or foe. I hesitated a bit in my judgment, but I don’t have to worry about receiving a fatal blow here.
If I use〖High Rest〗to recover the Red Ants, we’ll have an advantage. Not to mention, I can use〖Wind Slash〗to take out the enemy Red Ants’ army and gain a bit of experience points if I see an opening. I won’t receive much experience points from just one, so I’ll hit them all at once with〖Wind Slash〗.
“Gruu~o!”
It’s relieving to have Partner keep an eye on my left side.
“Gru~a?”
…… I can count on you, right?
After that, I went around the battlefield to look at the current situation. As I thought, the difference in number is oppressing our side. However, all the Red Ants are focused on the enemy in front of them. They haven’t paid much attention to me, even when I went away from the battlefield.
“Kuccha!”
An enemy Red Ant jumps at an ally Red Ant. The ally Red Ant responds with〖Clay Gun〗. The enemy Red Ant falls back after receiving a stone gravel to the head, but another one appeared from behind it.
I used〖Wind Slash〗on the enemy Red Ant that just came out. It seems that it was already injured because when〖Wind Slash〗hit, its motionless body rolled several meters on the ground.

【〖The Walking Egg〗skill gives you an additional 126 Experience Points.】
【The Lv. of〖Ouroboros Dragon〗went up from Lv. 15→21.】
This is more efficient than I thought. Levels rise faster when its low. If I get out of this low level, I may be able to fair well against the enemies’ nest on my own. And with that, I use〖Flight〗to fly on the battlefield while shooting〖Wind Slash〗in the air.
I focused on shooting〖Wind Slash〗while Partner focused on using〖High Rest〗to aid the ally Red Ants. If〖Status Inspection〗finds an ally in danger with low HP, we’ll immediately heal it, and if an enemy with low HP is found instead, we’ll finish it with〖Wind Slash〗.

The experience points keep piling up. It may be small, but it’s going up steadily.
It’s nice that Red Ants have the〖Self Regeneration〗skill. Before they get knocked down, they withdraw and heal themselves. They ignore the numbness of the pain, and keep fighting ‘til they’re beat up again.
[T.N: 痺れを切らし、下手に深追いすれば寄って集ってボコボコである。That last line up there is the best I got. That’s not supposed to be what it meant, but I wasn’t able to decipher what it should really mean. If you have any good translation for that part, plz comment it below!]
〖Wind Slash〗has a higher rate of finishing them off. Meanwhile,〖Clay Gun〗lacks a decisive blow and speed.
Because of〖High Rest〗, the number of damage from our side is not much, but the enemy’s side keeps pouring out more soldiers from the hive. Their numbers keep increasing. But, if they keep this up, the enemies’ side is bound to run out soon.
I attempt to limit my use of MP while the Red Ants cover me and wait until I back them up again. My MP is enormous, but the Red Ants’ MP reach near-empty if they ever abuse〖Clay Gun〗and〖Self Regeneration〗too much. Since a long-term war is expected, I’d rather not let the Red Ants’ MP be wasted too soon.
Following the tactic to attack and retreat alternatively, we’ve already taken out more than 20 enemy Red Ants.〖Wind Slash〗went up from Lv. 3→5, and〖High Rest〗 leveled up from 3→6.My own level also went up from 25→41.
It was more than I expected. If I was rampaging wildly in the frontlines instead, I’d probably not gain this much experience points.
But, handling my MP got slightly tougher now.I don’t have time to wait for〖Automatic MP Recovery〗to restore enough MP since I continuously use〖High Rest〗. My Red Ant allies are also having a hard time, now that support from me has dwindled.
Enemy Red Ants continue to keep on coming out. Even though we’ve already defeated about fifty of them, they just keep coming without stop. It’ll be tough to keep going at this pace. 〖High Rest〗and〖Wind Slash〗are starting to become more difficult to use now, so it may be better to head to the frontlines instead.
Or, so I thought that, but then five Red Ants jumped out of the ground behind the enemy Red Ants’ nest. Because the enemy seemed surprised, they’re probably the ones from our side who went around in advance. It seems they dug up a hole and went in hiding, then showed up when the timing was right.
The five Red Ants quickly jumped into the enemy’s nest. The enemy Red Ants follow after them, but they were too late.
“Kucchaaaa!!!!”
At the enemy’s hive entrance, five Red Ants cried out simultaneously. [T.N: D’aww… Ants doing a battlecry XD] The entrance collapsed and crushed the five Red Ants. Nearby enemy Red Ants were also dragged in and got crushed as well.
Were the five who went around… expendables? [T.N: Nooooo!!! They were just suicide bombers TTwTT]
“Kuccha!” “Kuccha!”
The allied Red Ants rejoiced at the sight of their enemy’s entrance falling apart. They seem to be indifferent from the fall of their allies. It may be because of the perception of how useful they are as limbs of the Queen. Even though I sent poisonous dumplings to their nest and nearly drove them to their destruction, I’m getting mixed feelings on this.
It might’ve been advantageous to us, but only the entrance was destroyed. Red Ants have the〖Dig〗skill though, so they’ll immediately open up a new hole and come out again. But, with this, reinforcements won’t arrive any time soon. We can surely annihilate all the enemies before us now.
They may be creating another exit, but at least it can’t be seen from here. It’ll probably take some time before they get here.
