성경 인물 연작은 2018년 부터 시작하였다. 성경에 나오는 많은 믿음의 영웅들은 나에게 깊은 영감과 믿음의 본질에 대해 깊이 생각케 하였다. 오래된 사건들이어서 우리와는 아주 다른 생활을 한 것 같지만은 생각하고 행동하고 말하는 모든 것이 현대를 사는 우리와 다른 것이 없다. 그들도 죄성 많은 하나의 인간일 뿐이었다. 늘 죄에 시달리고 다시 하나님께 자복하고 하나님 말씀에 순종치 못하는 모습을 성경을 통해 보여준다. 그들이 산 삶의 궤적에서 나의 삶을 본다. 그들의 삶에 주는 메세지가 무엇인지를 생각하며 작업에 임하였다. 마치에르를 통해 그들의 거칠고 고단했던 삶을 조금이라도 표현하고 색채를 통해 하나님의 영광과 그들의 믿음의 강한 힘을 나타내려고 노력하였다.

성경 속의 풍경 연작 은 십자가책형, 갈릴리, 가버나움으로 계속 작업되었다. 그 중 가버나움은 예수님께서 갈릴리지방에서 공생애를 시작하실 때 많이 복음전파 사역을 하셨던 도시다. 그 당시에 번화한 도시로서 새로운 신문물과 로마와 헬레니즘의 문화가 만개한 곳이었다. 다라서 죄악에 젖고 타락한 면모도 많이 가지고 있던 곳이었다. 예수님께서는 이를 한탄하여 소돔과 고모라에 비유하여 말씀하시기도 하였다.

OH, JESUS! 연작은 2022년도에 들어 서면서 신약성경에 나타난 예수님의 행적을 찾아 좀 더 다양하고 깊이있게 표현하려고 노력한 작품들이다. 화면에는 구성적인 요소를 중심으로 배치하여 성경의 사건들을 구체화하였다. 인물의 표정과 동작을 가능한 직선으로 구성하여, 인체에 숨겨져 있는 직선의 아름다움을 표현하려고 노력하였다. 나에게 직선은 영적인 숭고함을 느낄 수 있게 안내하는 회화적인 요소이다. 절제된 직선에서 믿음에 대한 안정적인 편안함을 느낀다. 색채들은 나에게 종교적인 많은 상징성을 보여준다. 노랑, 파랑, 빨강 등의 많은 색채들은 우리에게 구원과 소망, 사랑과 생명, 하나님이 주시는 은혜를 상징한다.
