What is a Humanoid Seach And Rescue Robot?
The Humanoid robot is made using cameras and environmental sensors in order to search for people in environmental challenges. This is made to emulate a real world search and rescue situation, where the robot would need to navigate rough terrain and obstacles in order to find and help people.
Step 1: Calibrate/Code
The first step was to code the Humanoid robot to move. This was done throught the robot's software which was remotely edited through the computer. We adjusted how much power and pressure would be put on each part of the robot, overall leading to the robot walking straight. We also coded it to turn when a wall or obstacle was sensed via its cameras or sensors.
Step 2: Testing
After the robot was coded, the next step was to test to see if it would work. We did this by training it's cameras on what a human looks like before setting it in an obstacle course in which it would need to find and identify humans and notify people about their location for rescue. The robot was able to achieve this task after reprogramming a multitude of times.
