Objective
Make a circuit that sets off an alarm when the risk of O2, Tr, and ST are all present
Make a circuit that sets off a red LED when the risk of only 2 of these 3 present.
Make a circuit that sets off a yellow LED when only 1 of these risks are present.
Make a circuit that sets off a green LED when there are no risks present.
Step 1: Design and Formulate
We decided to make one large circuit instead of 4 separate circuits in order make this process simpler and easier to understand. We spent an entire afternoon trying to figure out the circuit drawing of the board. After many trials and errors, as well as messy work, we eventually came up with a design that Dr. Gray and Mr. Tao complimented.
The final drawing (color coded) is on the right. The drafts and processes are below.
Step 2: Building the Circuits
After finishing our drawing, we began builidng our alarm circuit. The circuit was very complicated and our speaker was broken causing us to need the help of other teachers in order to figure out the problem.
We then built the main circuit itself and the timer circuit simultaneously. During the middle of making the circuit, we discovered and corrected a mistake in the drawings. We remade our main circuit and assembled the 3 different circuits into one. We finished our circuit with only 30 minutes left of the day. However, we didn't have time to implement the timer into the finished circuit.
Below are some progress pictures. To the right is the finished circuit.
