P. MAT 147. Part I – Dynamics of Particles: Introduction to Dynamics and solving it’s problems, Motion – Rectilinear, Plane curvilinear, Coordinate Systems – Rectangular, Normal Tangent, Polar, Space curvilinear, Relative Motion. Kinetics of Particles: Force, mass, acceleration, Solution of problems using equation of Motions. Work and Energy, Impulse (Linear and Angular), Momentum (Linear and Angular). Conservation of Mass and Momentum.
Part II – Dynamics of Rigid Bodies: Rotation, Absolute motion, Relative position, velocity, acceleration. Plane Kinetics of Rigid Bodies: General equations of Motion, Translation, Fixed axis rotation. Three- Dimensional Dynamics of Rigid Bodies – Kinematics, Kinetics. Translation, Fixed-Axis Rotation, Parallel Plane Motion, Rotation about a Fixed Point. Angular Momentum, Momentum and Energy equations of motions, Parallel Plane motion, Gyroscopic Motion.
