Facilities for PwDs
Disability means ‘incapacity to perform any activities in the usual or within the range considered normal for a human being’. A person with a disability may include a person who is blind or partially sighted, a person with a learning or intellectual disability, a person who is hearing impaired, a person with a physical disability, and a person with mental difficulty etc.
The separate law- PWD Act, 1995: The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) has been passed by the Govt. of India to fulfil the needs of the differently-abled persons.
In order to provide equal opportunities for such persons, we are having the following facilities and offering special treatment to the PwDs in our Library & College premises.

Facilities for PwDs
Infrastructural Facilities
The library is located on the ground floor of the college building for the convenience of physically challenged students
A wheelchair is made available if required
A ramp is created to enter easily the college premises
Steel railing is provided
Library/ College staff personally assist such persons while performing the various activities at Library/ College premises
A separate toilet is available with comfortable seats
CCTV is available for the security purpose
ICT Facilities
The Library has allotted a separate computer in the IT Section for PwDs
We use assistive technology like Screen Reading and Magnifier Software (NVDA- Non-Visual Desktop Access version 2020.3) to facilitate the blind persons through which they can operate the computer system and access the online resources easily

Reading Material for PwDs
Braille Magazines
The library has obtained a printed braille magazine in the Hindi language- 'Reliance Drishti' in the form of a donation from the Reliance Foundation, Mumbai.
Audio Notes
Our faculty members have prepared the subject notes in an audio format on different subjects. The library has developed a webpage- 'Audio Notes' for the students through which they can access and download the notes easily on their smartphones or computer or carry them in pen drive also. Blind students can listen to these notes easily with the help of headphones.

The library has obtained selected e-textbooks developed by the Shivaji University and made available on library portal for the PwD students that can be accessed through mobile and computer.
