Library Advisory Committee

The Library Advisory Committee (LAC) is the most appropriate body for maintenance and development of the library and decision-making at the policy level. This Committee is established to serve as a vital channel of communication between the library, its users, and the wider community. The LAC is engaged in the planning and improvement of the college library and is supposed to advise the librarian in policy matters regarding the library. The Librarian has exclusive responsibility for the routine management of the library, whereas overall administrative policy is controlled by the Advisory Committee. 

The objectives and functions of the LAC are as follows:

1. Formulate the policy, rules, and regulations for the Library.

2. Supervise and approve for Library Budget and allocation of funds under different expenditure heads

3. To advise the Librarian on development proposals.

4. To take strategic decisions regarding the acquisition and disposal of Library reading material/ resources.

5. Make necessary provision for the Library building, furniture, equipment, reading material and staff, etc. in the Library.

6. To recommend the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and College Development Council (CDC) regarding development plans of the Library.

7. To ensure good governance of the Library.

We, the members of the Library Advisory Committee, recognize the library as the essential intellectual and cultural heart of our institution. We believe that a dynamic, accessible, and well-resourced library is fundamental to fostering lifelong learning, innovation, and informed citizenship. Our mission is to provide strategic advice, advocate for the library's needs, and ensure its services, collections, and spaces remain responsive, inclusive, and aligned with our shared goals.

The Library Advisory Committee consists of the Principal as Chairman, Librarian as Secretary, all Heads of the Subject/ Department and one student representative as members. The following are the members of the Library Advisory Committee of Prof. Sambhajirao Kadam College, Deur.
