When Anne-Marie de Warck, her cousin, widow of Jean de Nollet, died in Granges (Esneux) on 13 September 1721, Marie-Jeanne, who was counting on her inheritance as a close relative, learned that the deceased had given all her property, even that of Habay, on 16 February 1717, to Walter de Liverlo, former mayor of Liège. 173) Considering herself wronged, and supported by the Harbonniers, other legal heirs, she filed an objection on 23 October 1721. She alleged that the usual forms had not been respected and that the donee, as a foreigner, could not own property in the Netherlands. Liverlo objected that he had always assisted the deceased, whom her family neglected, to the point that Marie-Jeanne, in order to defend her property in Düttlingen, had brought legal proceedings against him. This matter went to the Grand Council of Malines, after Liverlo's appeal was rejected by the Council of Luxembourg on 16 July 1726.
