A stem and leaf plot is a way to organise data. The numbers split so that only the final digit goes in the leaf, all the other digits are apart of the stem. (See Below)
Firstly we just fill them into the diagram as they appear in the data set
Secondly if they are not ordered we order the leaves so they are in numeric order from smallest to largest
A back-to-back stem and leaf plot can also be drawn when comparing two groups. This can be used to compare two groups. Each group shares a stem, and values increase moving out from the stem
