A dot plot is similar to a bar graph. It's a graph that can show not only how many of each value that there is but the distribution of all the data. This graph is plotted over a single axis.
Each plot represents a single piece of data.
Every time there is a piece of data with the same value it is plotted directly above the previous one
For example in the graph on the right you can see there are three students who have a bag weight of 0 kg (no bag), while there is one student with a bag weight of 16 kg.
