When labeling a right angled triangle there are names for each of the three sides.
Hypotenuse

This is the longest side of the triangle
It is directly opposite the right angle.
Adjacent

The word adjacent means next to.
As the name suggests the adjacent side is next to the given angle, or angle you are trying to find
Another way you can find this side is it is between the two angle (the right angle and the given angle)
Note: The adjacent is not the hypotenuse

When choosing a ratio, the first step to always label the sides of the triangle that are labelled.
On this triangle in green you can see the sides labeled 'O' (representing the opposite side), and 'H' (representing the hypotenuse side).
Since the diagram has opposite and hypotenuse sides labelled we choose one of the above ratios that uses the same - Sine
