Solving with inequalities is essentially the same as solving with an equals sign except when dividing or multiplying by a negative number and then the sign switches to be the other way around.

Consider the example of comparing temperatures:
12˚<23˚ (12˚ is cooler than 23˚)
However when there is a minus sign in front:
-12˚>-23˚ (-12˚is warmer than -23˚)
