This class has offered me valuable insights into the role of cultural diversity across different areas of life—beyond education, into fields like music, film, and writing. I’ve learned that embracing cultural differences is key to building a more inclusive and understanding society.

As an aspiring translator, these lessons are especially meaningful. I now understand how important it is to go beyond just accurate language use—to ensure that translations also reflect cultural context and sensitivity. The skills I’ve gained in intercultural communication will help me avoid misunderstandings and better connect with diverse audiences.

The course also introduced current diversity and inclusion practices, like addressing unconscious bias and promoting equity- important themes I’ll carry into my future work. It has also made me more aware of how everyday cultural differences shape behavior and perception.

Among the projects, my favorite was the song adaptation, as it is something that depending on how it is adapted it can have an impact on people, like trying to pass the same message or feeling. Also, I really like the eLearning cultural awareness, because it explains the cultural shock of "time" in different cultures, how some are more relaxed with it and others are very straight with how to use it.

In the end, this experience has not only expanded my knowledge but also given me practical tools and a deeper sense of responsibility to foster respect and understanding in both my personal and professional life.
