1985

1985 saw the first major update to the Cutlass Ciera/Cruiser model lines. The limited edition GT coupe was introduced, replacing the previous ES coupe, however the ES sedan continued for one more year, before being dropped during the 1986 mid year refresh.

GT models (W45) included the 3.8 liter V6, 4 speed automatic, black grille, headlamp bezels, and body trim, black door handles, F41 sport suspension, sport steering wheel, N78 alloy wheels, body extensions, fog lamps, sporty exhaust, bucket seats, floor shift, full instrumentation, console, and GT emblems. The W45 package was only available on the J27 coupe.

New styling included a rounded front fascia with new headlamp bezels and grilles, revised body side rub moldings, new tail lamps with full width reverse lamps (and 1985 only thick black trim), a new front and rear bumpers, revised dash boards with new air vents, updated trim, new seat fabrics and designs, new door panels, and faux stitching on the dash top.

*Note, while engine options remained the same in the United States, Canadian customers now had the option of ordering Chevrolet's 2.8 liter carbureted V6 engine.
