I watched this movie late at night with my dad—we had made a second batch of microwave popcorn and I had a half-full seltzer bottle to share between us. It was a Saturday night during the summer, so I was super excited. I am a huge action (and Chris Evans) fan, so I settled down, stoked to watch the movie.
I am very happy to say that I was not disappointed. Usually, when there's a giant blockbuster movie with a bunch of hugely famous actors, it gets a lot of publicity pre-release but ends up absolutely sucking (Red Notice...I'm talking about you). However, The Gray Man wasn't a letdown. It was thoroughly entertaining, with the action starting early and going 100 miles per hour for the rest of the movie. Ryan Gosling (Six), Chris Evans (Lloyd Hansen), and Ana De Armas (Miranda) did a fantastic job in their roles, as well as Regé-Jean Page from Bridgerton, who played the shady Danny Carmichael.
I've personally never seen La La Land or any other movie that has Ryan Gosling starring in it, so this was the first film that I've really seen with him. I am so glad it was because he did a fantastic job in it. Gosling has great range with his emotions and the action scenes that he did were really believable.
...Then there's the scene when Six is getting all the blood off of him—shirtless. That scene was my tipping point for when I knew Ryan Gosling was going on my infamous 'list of men', which currently consists of at least ten men that I absolutely love. Chris Evans is also on that list, as well as Brad Pitt, Cillian Murphy, and Adam Driver.
Anyways, the movie was great and I'd say my overall rating for it was a solid 8/10.
