Digital Ethics and Cyberbullying Concept Map
Reflection on Digital Ethics and Cyberbullying Concept Map
In creating my concept map on digital ethics and cyberbullying, I gained valuable insights into the complexities surrounding these issues. I learned that digital ethics encompasses a range of topics, including privacy, accountability, and intellectual property, which are essential for navigating today’s online environments. Particularly enlightening was the realisation that a person’s digital footprint can have long-lasting effects on their reputation and opportunities, emphasising the importance of ethical behavior in digital spaces (Buchanan, 2019).
Regarding cyberbullying, I discovered the various forms it can take, such as harassment and exclusion, and the profound impact it has on victims, including mental health challenges and academic decline (Redmond et al., 2018). This reinforced the need for proactive educational strategies to address and prevent cyberbullying.
Furthermore, the intersection of digital ethics and cyberbullying highlighted the responsibility educators have in fostering safe online environments and teaching students about respectful communication (Warnick et al., 2016). Overall, the concept map not only helped me visualise these issues but also deepened my understanding of the ethical responsibilities we all share in the digital age.
