1. Description of "Our Community"
For us, the local community is we, the Claretians; the best way I can describe us is as a family; there are times when we fight (not always, but there are times when we fight), but in the end, we stick together and help each other when we need it. We Claretians are a hardworking community, guided by our CHEERS and motto (Knowledge is best with virtue) to be the best of our abilities, we must respect life, be confident in our abilities, compassionate to everyone, humble, empower others to be their best, and achieve excellence. Our students and teachers are also perseverant, charismatic and supportive of one another always. Together, united by the ideals of St. Anthony Mary Claret, banded together to participate in this year’s CyberFair project and build a spectacular website that upholds one of our nation’s national treasures.
2. Summary of Our Project
Intramuros is one of the best places in the Philippines to visit. With all the places that can be found in the Intramuros, I am sure that everybody would be interested in visiting the places in Intramuros. Through our project or our website, this would provide the people as their guide and an online visit of what to expect when visiting Intramuros. It will help and guide the people who are looking for some place to visit. Our website contains all the information about Intramuros. With enough persuasion on what our project conveys, this would promote our country's places and its tourist spots. Plus, promoting a landmark in the Philippines through creating a website is a way for us to also support our country's culture and tradition or history. Talking briefly about the facts and history of each place that can be found in Intramuros can help this place to be more known to the world. This highlights the wondrous place we have today. Our project focuses on the place, Intramuros, also known and more commonly as the Walled City of Manila. Intramuros is place none like other, it is home to the Spanish-era landmarks such as the Fort Santiago that has a large stone gate and a shrine for the national hero, Jose Rizal. The Manila Cathedral within it houses carvings and stained-glass windows and such Churches stood as a museum of religious artworks and statues. Spanish colonial furniture and art fill some of it, a true heritage to the past. This project, see to it, paves a way for the appreciation of our history and past, as well as how it has influenced our culture and what we are, what we have today in the present with our identity and traditions. This aims to raise awareness and appreciation of our beautiful historical landmarks of significant importance such as this. Intramuros, being considered one of them, a project dedicated to it further brings knowledge to the audience, by sharing such amazing places to people, sharing facts, learning about the history and data with regards to it. We also come to see the value and its importance to the Filipino heritage. Our Cyberfair project is all about the famous landmark here in the Philippines which is Intramuros that is in Manila. It highlights the old but beautiful place here in our country which is the Philippines. This project is important because it shows appreciation in places here in our country and it aims to support these kinds of historical places in the Philippines. This project contains the places that is in there, facts about it, it is history, statistics, and its importance in our Filipino heritage. In this project, we can gain a lot of knowledge when it comes to our history. Making this kind of website in online platforms can attract and gather people who are active and people who are tourists, especially the foreigners. Intramuros has always been a famous landmark here in the Philippines because many events happened in this place. By creating this website, we can already show our fellow Filipino people that this place is worth going to because it has been part of our identity as Filipinos and our Philippine history. Intramuros, a well-known monument in the Philippines, is the focus of the Cyberfair project. This project is significant because it demonstrates love for our country's locales and seeks to support historical sites in the Philippines. This project offers details about the locations, their history, statistics, and their relevance to our Filipino heritage. Working on this endeavor will teach us a lot about our history. The Walled City, for example, was once located along the shores of Manila Bay, south of the entrance to the Pasig River. Fort Santiago, a castle built at the mouth of the river, guards the old city. Making this type of website available on online platforms has the potential to attract and gather active people as well as tourists. I think that our site may be able to peek our readers interest and educate the people about history and the culture of Intramuros, this place is filled with our past, the things we can learn about the people in the past like what it was like, how the architecture was, how they lived, there are a lot of documentation about their living hood, paintings, books, and writings, we hope that we can inspire people to visit.
3. CyberFair Theme - – To Be Answered by Group 3
Our project helps support this year’s CyberFair theme because in our web page about Intramuros, we do show their vision/theme which is PROTECT & Unite and what they mean with this is that to protect our communities, our environment, our culture, our health, our animals, and our future. Our web page helps with their theme specifically in our culture. This helps in our culture because our mission for this project is to aim to educate our fellow Filipinos and encourage them to understand the details and importance of one of our oldest cultural sites here in our country, the Walled City: Intramuros. With our appealing articles telling the tales of the landmark that has withstand the test of time. It remains a window to the past, preserving our way of life for the future generations to see. Which means this also helps our future to remember this part of our history. This helps also in our culture because Intramuros is part of our culture and history. Through our project which is the web page, we can help people remember our history specifically in Intramuros because our web page is all about Intramuros, from just its location, to the places and sites, fun facts, history, and its statistics. Intramuros, Philippines, a historical landmark of the Philippines, that has been the location of many significant events in the history in the Philippines. Intramuros has went through multiple devastations, wreckage, and then reconstruction. Its original condition was not fully maintained, in relation to this years Cyberfair theme, we encourage everyone to protect and preserve remnants of our history. We should unite and cooperate to protect and preserve our history and culture. But, why is Intramuros and our history of the Philippines important?. Our history is what shaped us, our history shaped our society, attitudes, and traits as a Filipino. Our historical landmarks, such as Intramuros, Philippines, is a reminder of who we are, and what our ancestors have done to shape and improve the wellness of the Philippines. The cyberfair theme is also to educate the young on how our history change over time and improve as we get more advance as time passes. Our project's focus is to protect and preserve one of the Philippines' most important national landmarks, as well as to bring the country together to help us further educate tourist about our countries historical landmark. Our Project Supports this year's Cyberfair theme by protecting the people from using too much social media and to stop spreading fake facts about intramuros. Our project supports this year's Cyberfair theme by also uniting the Children and the grandparents for the grandparents to give the young children more things to learn about Intramuros. Overall, Our Project will always support this year's theme "Protect and Unite". Our Project supports this year's Cyberfair theme by helping people to be educated on events that happened in the past and how can they learn from it and apply it to their lives in the modern times.
4. Our Computer and Internet Access
A. Percentage of students using the Internet at home: 100% (maybe 85% as some students state sometimes that they are using mobile data), Since the Covid started there has been a switch of mode of learning from face- to- face to distance learning, student stay at their home with their cellphone/laptop/computer to fulfill their education.
B. Number of workstations with Internet access in the classroom: As stated above that right now we are in our homes with our technology to continue our schooling. But in a computer class of Claret School of Quezon City all of the students have one computer provided to them so they could use for education, an average amount of students per section is 30-35.
Since we are experiencing a pandemic and government guidelines restrict face to face classes, it should be obvious that 100% or all 32 classmates of mine have internet access. However since the Philippines is still a developing country, majority of us still experience severe internet connection issues.
C. Connection speed used in the classroom: Our connection speed in our classroom varies from person-to-person depending on how good their internet is, but generally, we are able to conduct our classes in relatively decent speeds with some minor lagging or disconnecting from time-to
D. Number of years our classroom has been connected to the Internet: The number of years our class has been online is about a year now. We started classes on August and started our classes and now the school-year will end at April. -Leye Ruslan L, Quillo
E. Additional comments concerning your computer and/or Internet access (Optional):
Limit your comments to 150 words (1000 characters) or less. If you have a compelling story to tell, then create a Web page as part of your project pages and make a link here.
Our internets are usually beyond our control due to many factors like weather, electricity and power, our locations, etc. Whenever we get disconnected, we usually text a friend or fellow classmate of ours that we have disconnected and the reason why, then the friend will tell the teacher or our advisor that we have disconnected or are not able to connect, then we will be excused. -Jed Ulssen G. Nacino
Generally speaking our Internets are mostly based on where we live in may it be a rainy region, a place that is far from Internet Transmitters and more. With these getting in our way we cannot perfectly comprehend what will happen to our internet but whenever we are facing problems that are related to disconnecting from it, getting cut because of late payment and more we tend to go to our phones and use mobile data to be able to attend classes and continue our homeworks, sometimes whenever we can't buy any more mobile data and we're also running out we ask our classmates to tell the teacher that "i am currently having issues with my internet and my mobile data is about to run out so if i either become inactive or leave the call that means that i was having internet issues at that time". For the computers some are low end and some are high end, these can be easily checked just by asking the seller what the specs of the computer that you will be buying are. Sometimes when we have low end computers the percentage of possibly crashing or it slowing down is pretty high and with bad internet you will have an annoying experience. -Keon Mark D, Pasayloon
5. Problems We Had To Overcome
well as a group There were several problems we have encountered and one of those is finding a good code or format for our statistics, we were deciding on what to find the best for the statistics part of our page but in the end, we have settled into something not too complex but just something simple for our format which is a table format for our page. Another problem that we have encountered as a group was finding the exact information that our group needed, like the exact information of how many people have visited intramuros, at first we only found information that shows estimated only and not the exact number of people who visited intramuros. Luckily we ended up finding a source in where it is reliable and at the same time the website we found was specific with their information and we concluded it was reliable information when the webpage's name is literally from intramuros itself so we trusted that website from Intramuros.
6. Our Project Sound Bite
As a group our participation in Cyberfair has meant a big part in our community, because it has enhanced they're knowledge about the topic we have discussed. The purpose of our participation in the CyberFair activity was to help other people to have a deeper learning of the history of Intramuros and the Philippines itself. It is also to remind them to value and give importance to our cultural heritage in the Philippines.

7. How did your activities and research for this International Schools CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
We were assigned to make a website that was informative, decorative, and easy to navigate, so we created something more than just that. As Claretian students, we were taught to help our fellow folk work, and represent Claret in all we do. Determination, empowerment, and excellence are few of the virtues we practiced throughout our work, for it is part of our doctrine. In skills, we learned to navigate and utilize every feature of Google Sites, how to gather research efficiently, and some learned too about leadership. Together, we learned cooperation. We realized that education is an open system, and that our school system may be a good tool for learning, but it can only cover much knowledge. This is one of the reasons we persisted with our project because alone, a school or a website such as our can only educate so much, but together we can teach more. This International Schools CyberFair Project tasked us to create a website using Google Sites about our section’s chosen topic. We chose Intramuros and provided the background, history, sites, and statistics of the Waled City. The project’s content standards addressed, or the learning topics needed to attain were coding, creating a website, effectiveness in researching, and the ability of students to be creative and learn more about the chosen topic. This project fit into the required curriculum of the school and the mission of our government which is to enrich our knowledge about the Philippine’s history and be adept in learning the facts surrounding the past. The new skills we learned are mostly about coding and how to make websites easier. We were also able to learn about the history of Intramuros. As a group, we talked to each other, practiced coordination, cooperation, teamwork, and the CHEERS which were taught to us as Claretians. We understood specific ideas through valuable research and by discussing the topics as a group instead of one by one. We also learned more about researching which really helped in understanding each specific idea given to us. This project fit into the requirements of the computer subject and Claret since it taught us more about our lesson in HTML, webpages, websites, and coding and it enriched our knowledge about the Philippines helping us to live out the Claretian values, spirituality, vision, and mission. The CyberFair project also helped a lot in finding out more about the educational system and the role we play in our community. The educational system focuses on our identity as Claretians, and most importantly as Filipinos. In the community, us students are the future, and learning about these topics are very important. Using the internet for teaching and learning does have its pros and cons. Although it is easier to research about topics in online learning, it is harder to work with groupmates and talk to them since some are unresponsive. I do think traditional methods of learning such as using books and face-to-face classes are better since it is easier to learn through that method and classmates can be talked to and worked with physically.
1) What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your CyberFair project?
The information tools and technologies we used in completing the CyberFair project are different websites, different videos take for example YouTube, and other editing software. These things helped us in completing the CyberFair because it gave us enough research to study and gave us the necessary things we need that will help us in completing our website. The information and tools we used were mainly online sources and technology given to us (computers, phones or tablets), the info we took from to display in the sites were taken from reliable sources and sites, that were sited of course, some could and may have sued personal information fi they've been there before as well.
2) In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your CyberFair project both on-line and in person.
We showed ourselves being an ambassador of our Cyberfair project by promoting ourselves and our work to our people that is with us to support us. In our project or web page making, we contacted some people like our classmates and our teacher who helped and guided us in forming this page. When our group contacted these people, they gave us some recommendations on what to improve and some points that we needed to add so that our site would be more persuasive to catch people’s eye. Also, we talked about the process of working and doing this project. Afterwards, they were impressed and good about it. They were interested in our website as well, which is great and pleasing. We represented our project on behalf of this, and with that assistance, we were quite able to contribute a few or a couple of things for the success of this project. To promote this, we enlightened the other people with regards to the content and main idea of our project, wether it be online or offline, in person. The process in which how this project came to be and how it was done is a story worth to be told, which was mostly cooperation within the class and the significance of researching and perhaps contacting reliable sources of information. So far, not much contacts have been made, but online, chances of it done may be higher due to the spread of info, which is what may be considered of this project as we promote a worthy heritage, especially here within the school community and our families, one of the closes ones around us for noteworthy insights and ideas. People within this school community or perhaps even the household we reside in as students may find our project absorbing due to its unique and the diversity and assortment of the particulars found in this CyberFair themed work. In this website, we became ambassadors of our Cyberfair project in many ways. We talked with our colleagues who were also tasked to create our website as a whole. We asked for feedback, comments and suggestions so that we could further improve our work. After talking with them, they also shared with us our objectives, plans and ideas on how we can make our website informative and catchy to the ones who will visit our website. As we represent our work which are famous places in Intramuros, we shared our works with people who are active online, tourists, and of course foreigners. These places are full of historical events which can benefit the people who will be going there. It can help us Filipino students of Claret School of Quezon City to be proud of our country because we promote these kinds of historical places here in the Philippines. During this project, I have shown Engr. Eleazar Salut of Enginerds our web page to get some insights and recommendations on how to improve our page design and details. According to him, he commends the students through its computer class project, and that through this it can educate people especially during this time of pandemic where travel restrictions are implemented in the country and we can help with the tourism that may attract more people, particularly foreigners to be interested of the rich cultures and history of our historical landmark, which is Intramuros. In a way, I am an ambassador, for i am representing Fort Santiago and is trying to inspire people to come visit, to have some fun, relax, learn, and maybe gain some people that has a passion into history.
3) What has been the impact of your project on your community?
Our project will make a difference because our project will be able to promote Intramuros which is part of our history and culture. Our project will be able to promote Intramuros because we made sure that each page is interesting and catchy for readers to read and hopes to encourage them to visit Intramuros. Our project will also make a difference in its statistics. This is because when more people know about Intramuros and give them interest with it, the stats of how many are visiting Intramuros could high up because of this. The unique factor of our presentation/web page is that most of the websites have incomplete details so we made ours so that all of the information you need will be in our website and this will remove the hassle to research through different websites. I can say that people like me has learned many things about Intramuros through the journey of making our web page which is our project. I was able to learn more about the history of the buildings located in Intramuros like the walls around the place. This web page has helped me and others to understand more about what was going on in Intramuros. We were also able to see what kind of historical structures we will be able to see in Intramuros and is also explain to us its history. Our webpage can also impact the community by helping to inspire younger Claretians into making a web page like this in the future when a project like this will be assigned for them and also explain to them how people in Manila lived despite many invaders invading the country. Our website was dedicated to inform and persuade people to visit Intramuros. The website has been categorized to the different topics and categories that you might want to know about Intramuros, Philippines. We have a main page which gives the reader a brief description about Intramuros, we also have a page dedicated to the different places that you may visit in Intramuros, there is a page dedicated to the different fun and interesting facts about Intramuros, there is a page that tackles the History of Intramuros, and the page also contains statistics about Intramuros. Our web page gives the readers an overview of Intramuros, Philippines. I can say that our website may inform our readers and persuade them to visit and experience the history of the Philippines. Our initiative educates individuals from all over the world by providing information on various places, sites, facts, and other information that can help in informing people about the area. Through this project, we, as researchers, can also gain knowledge and awareness with one of the most important structures in Philippine history. Our Project will make an impact to our community by giving the young generation some knowledge about one of the oldest districts in Manila, Intramuros. It can also give the old generation a rememberance of the past and for them to see how Intramuros has improved over the 450 years of its service. This project can also give an impact to the tourists as they get attracted and interested to experience the history of the oldest district in manila.
4) How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
Our project involved communities and volunteers because my classmates in my section did their parts in the project we were doing. To begin with, we didn’t find our volunteers through volunteering or within our community, instead we were all volunteering as a section, as a community of grade 9 students in the same section. And as a section we did our part in the CyberFair and I give all of the students who did their part in our project a round of applause a big thanks, especially with the ending of the current school year. The project we did that was involved with communities and volunteers since my fellow classmates in my section flawlessly executed their part in helping with the cyber Fair.
