First-Year Programs (FYP) works to acclimate first-year students to college life by providing programs that promote the establishment of academic & social connections on campus .

HUI is a summer leadership program providing a free 3-credit summer college course for a select group of incoming freshmen at UHM. HUI also offers engaging and insightful workshops on using university resources, exploring academics/careers, and developing writing/math skills. All HUI participating scholars will be paired with a Peer Mentor who will support and assist them in their transition from high school to college.

Mānoa Peer Advisors (MPA)
MPA strives to provide the UHM student body with available and resourceful Peer Advisors who will guide students through all stages in their college careers. It consists of a Summer Training Program and a year-round MPA Fellowship. The program is overseen by professional advisors and is spearheaded by trained undergraduate Peer Advisor Leaders (PALs).
