Why I chose to become a Peer Fellow: I chose to become a Peer Fellow as I felt that this opportunity was perfect for gaining experience in community outreach and professional development. As someone who is aspiring to join the mental health field, this experience will also provide a valuable opportunity to explore my future field of work and connect with like-minded individuals. On a personal note, I was positively impacted by the services provided by the CSDC; from this, I hope to take the support, resources, and goodwill that I have been given and pay it forward to those in need.

Why I chose to become a Peer Fellow: I chose to become a Peer Fellow for many reasons, I have a passion for helping others, I have experienced a lot when it comes to balancing school, work, and life here at UH, especially alone since I am a first generation student, so being there for other fellow students and being able to support them through their academic journey would be so fulfilling since that is a resource I wish I had or knew about before. I am also passionate about learning, since I want to go into the psychology field. I believe this position will be a great opportunity to grow and develop skills that will carry over there and in real life to be able to support others around me as well! Why I chose to become a Peer Fellow: I chose to become a Peer Fellow because I have a passion for helping others and mental health and wanted an opportunity to use what I’ve learned from my psychology courses and apply them to the real world . I’ve always appreciated how the Peer Fellow Program has hosted many engaging and informative events, I personally attended the QPR Suicide Prevention training and gained so much knowledge regarding suicide and it’s prevention.
